SNAP Newsletters

The Peace River Curling Club encourages members to take a look at the SNAP Newsletters below.

March 2017 Newsletter
April 2017 Newsletter

What is SNAP?

SNAP is a committee that is represented and equally funded by the four curling associations in Alberta – Southern Alberta Curling Association (SACA), Northern Alberta Curling Association (NACA), Peace Curling Association (PCA), and the Alberta Curling Federation (ACF). The committee was established in early 2015 to investigate and recommend a new structure for the establishment of one governing body of curling in Alberta.

There are several benefits that will derive from a single governing body:

 The ability to grow the sport consistently throughout the province

 One voice to Curling Canada, Alberta Sport Connection (ASC), and other stakeholders

 Standardization of policies, procedures, rules, and playdown structure

 Operational efficiencies

 Consistent services and support to member clubs and curlers

The SNAP committee believes that the process of combining the existing four associations into a single association MUST:

 Protect the interests of all member clubs and curlers (including recreational and competitive)

 Meet the expectations and requirements of stakeholders such as current sponsors, ASC, Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC), Alberta Registries and Curling Canada
